In an article in phy.org, there is a new software tool that can help design more practical magnets and arrangements of magnets to control the hot plasma for a Fusion Reactor.
Containment of the plasma in these reactors called Stellarators, is critical to produce continuous fusion power. This software starts with a model or design of how you want that plasma to be, and then finds a realistic or practical design of the magnets to achieve that plasma configuration. It does it in a very fast time frame compared to previous methods.
We are all for research into Fusion reactors at Chemnology, In fact we wish the USA government had invested more research funds for this over the last 20 to 40 years. Hopefully the USA starts funding research more going forward.
