Well, in Chemical Engineering school, a long time ago, we studied how the fundamentals of the science we used was discovered, or developed. The Name of Lord Kelvin and also Lord Rutherford, came up a lot.
In particular the type of thermodynamics studied by Chem E’s is very detailed and tricky, honestly. We spent hours and hours doing homework on this. It was developed by Lord Kelvin as discussed in the article. (See the link below.) That was in the 1800s, and of course Lord Rutherford was very important in developing chemistry and a lot of other science I believe, Of course Newton invented calculus.
Years after my coursework in engineering, the most interesting thing I remember about it. Was learning how the previous science was discovered, what things didn’t pan out exactly, and how we learned more later.
The list of science and technology developments to get us to the modern level of a technological society like the USA, or Europe, well the list of achievements is almost endless.
that’s why we say at CHEMNOLOGY, LLC HQ ….
WE ARE STANDING ON THE SHOULDERS OF GIANTS
and that also implies if we fall, we could hit rock bottom very very hard
